Invata recognized by Supply & Demand Chain Executive Magazine for providing solutions that assist customers in achieving measurable sustainability goals.
Conshohocken, PA (PRWEB) December 02, 2014
Invata Intralogistics, Inc., specialists in warehouse automation systems and the warehouse software and controls that drive them, announced today that one of its projects has been chosen as a 2014 Green Supply Chain Award Winner by Supply & Demand Chain Executive Magazine.
Every year, S&DE editors recognize companies that are making sustainability a core part of the supply chain strategies and the solutions they provide. The magazine focused on the extent of the steps being taken as well as the impact of the results. Using renewable energy, minimizing waste, and maximizing facility and solutions lifespan are all components the magazine’s editorial staff considered in making their choices for 2014 Green Supply Chain Award Winners. Winners were chosen from a pool of over 200 companies.
Invata’s award was based upon an e-commerce fulfillment automation solution the company provided for a high-end, Seattle-based, omni-channel retailer. In designing an automated packaging system for the client, Invata was able to substantially reduce packaging waste by ensuring all items were shipped in the smallest possible carton, while also eliminating the need for void fill. The solution dramatically reduced handling and packaging costs, while increasing order fulfillment accuracy and end-user customer satisfaction.
“We are proud to be a 2014 Green Supply Chain Award Winner,” said Jay Moris, CMO of Invata. “We are always looking for ways to enhance the efficiency of our clients’ fulfillment center operations. A key part of that strategy is to find ways to minimize energy usage, reduce waste, and extend the lifespan of our clients’ warehouse automation systems — and we are experts in doing just that.”
